What Is Osteopathic Manual Therapy?
Osteopathic manual therapy is a hands-on approach that looks at how the body functions as a whole—not just where pain or discomfort is showing up.
Johngarret uses manual techniques to assess and address restrictions in the muscles, joints, fascia and surrounding tissues that may be affecting movement, mobility and function. Rather than following the same treatment plan for every client, each session is tailored to what he finds and how your body responds.
Treatment may also incorporate ELDOA and other movement-based techniques, along with an individualized home program to help support progress between sessions.

Who Can Benefit From Manual Therapy?
Athletes & Active Individuals
Whether you’re returning from an injury, dealing with recurring pain or trying to improve the way your body moves, treatment is tailored to the demands of your sport and your individual goals. Johngarret works with student, collegiate and adult athletes to address mobility restrictions, repetitive strain and movement patterns that may be affecting performance or contributing to discomfort.
The goal isn’t simply to get you through an injury- it’s to help you move well, build confidence in your body and stay active.

Back, Neck & Joint Pain
Pain doesn’t always start where you feel it. Restrictions or imbalances elsewhere in the body can affect the way you move and contribute to ongoing discomfort.
Johngarret uses osteopathic manual therapy to look at the body as a whole, addressing mobility restrictions, muscle and fascial tension, and movement patterns that may be contributing to back, neck or joint pain.
Treatment is individualized with the goal of improving movement, reducing discomfort and helping you get back to the activities that matter to you.

Post-Surgical Recovery
Recovery doesn’t always end when physical therapy does. Lingering stiffness, scar tissue, restricted mobility and compensation patterns can continue to affect the way your body moves long after surgery. Johngarret uses individualized osteopathic manual therapy to address these restrictions and support better movement as you return to everyday activities, exercise or sport.
Treatment is tailored to your surgery, stage of recovery and individual goals, and can complement the work you’re already doing with your medical or rehabilitation team.

Hypermobility & Complex Conditions
When your body moves differently, treatment shouldn’t follow a one-size-fits-all approach. Johngarret works with clients with hypermobility, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and other complex musculoskeletal concerns using an individualized approach that considers how the body is moving and functioning as a whole. Treatment is adapted to each client’s needs and may focus on areas of restriction, tension and compensation while supporting comfortable movement and everyday function.
